JE Shekell worked with Marathon Petroleum in Robinson, IL on their new 100% outside air laboratory heating and cooling system for a new lab called the MSAT2 lab* (see description below), which is an EPA mandated reduction program of Benzene in gasoline. We were responsible for installing the new Trane air-handler, Trane DDC controls, Strobic Exhaust fan, Labconco lab hoods, supply duct system, mechanical piping, Electrical power wiring.
*Mobile Source Air Toxics (MSAT)
Mobile source air toxics are compounds emitted from highway vehicles and non-road equipment which are known or suspected to cause cancer or other serious health and environmental effects.
*To meet fuel part of new Rule Refiners must reduce Benzene in Gasoline:
0.62 vol % annual average
1.3 vol % maximum annual average
Rule takes effect beginning 2011 and 2015 for small refiners
